Manama, May 4 (BNA): President of the International Paralympic Committee, Andrew Parsons, said he is confident of the success of the Bahrain International Badminton Championship 2023.
Parsons praised Bahrain’s track record in hosting major international sporting events.
The Bahrain International Badminton Championship 2023, which is being held in Bahrain for the second time, will be held from May 17 to 23. It is organized by the Bahrain Paralympic Committee and the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation.
Para badminton made its big debut at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
The IPC has seen the sport flourish, especially across Asia as Para badminton becomes more competitive and recreational with each passing tournament.
The Paris 2024 Paralympics will feature 16 badminton medal events, two more than Tokyo 2020, and tournaments like this form an important part of the preparation and qualification for the Paris Games.
