Interior Ministry Undersecretary receives first recipients of Golden Residency

Manama, February 22 (BNA) The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa received today the first recipients of golden residence permits.

He congratulated them, noting that the service constitutes a turning point to enhance the services provided and support the national economy in light of the inspiration of the government and the 2030 economic vision.

The Undersecretary revealed that the NPRA has received 577 applications since the launch of the Golden Residence Permit. He attributed the high demand to Bahrain’s success in attracting employees, retirees, investors and talented people from various countries who consider Bahrain among their favorite countries.

Meanwhile, the CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, Jamal Al-Alawi, said golden residence permits do not affect the valid work permits for foreign workers. Employers implement obligations according to the rules of Law No. 19 of 2006 and its executive decisions.
