Interior Minister receives UK Defence Senior Advisor

Manama, May 17 (BNA): The Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, received here today the Senior Adviser of the British Ministry of Defense for the Middle East, Air Marshal Martin Sampson.

It was attended by the Chief of Public Security, Lieutenant General Tariq bin Hassan Al-Hassan.

The Minister of Interior welcomed the British official in Bahrain, praising the distinguished historical relations between Bahrain and the United States, which extend for more than two hundred years.

The Minister of Interior praised the sound vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which preserved Bahrain’s security and territorial integrity in light of changes and challenges.

The Senior Adviser to the British Ministry of Defense for the Middle East region expressed his appreciation for the programs and projects launched by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of promoting human rights, foremost of which is the Civilizational Alternative Sentences Project and the Open Prisons Program.

During the meeting, they reviewed security cooperation and coordination, as well as the latest regional and international security developments.
