Manama, Jan. 22 (BNA): Minister of Interior, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, received Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Koman, Secretary General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers.
The meeting was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, and Deputy Chief of Public Security, Major General Dr. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
The minister praised the role of the Council’s General Secretariat in developing joint Arab security action and following up on the implementation of the decisions of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Arab Interior Ministers.
The meeting reviewed the topics to be discussed in the next session of the council and issues related to enhancing Arab security cooperation.

Sheikh Rashid and Dr. Koeman honored the Bahraini winners of the Prince Nayef Prize for Arab Security. In 2016, Ramy Waheed Mansour won first place for his study on terrorism. He also topped the 2017 award winners for his study of cybercrime. Dr. Ahmed Mubtak Salem won the third place for the year 2019 for his study on illegal immigration. In the Creativity category, Fatima Ali Nass won second place in 2018 for her study on narcotic awareness. In the leading security programme, the Together Against Violence and Addiction program won second place for the year 2019.
