Interior Minister receives British delegation

Manama, Nov. 18 (BNA): Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received today a British parliamentary delegation headed by Member of the House of Lords, Baron Nicholas Soames.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Public Security Lieutenant General Tariq Al-Hassan and CEO of the National Center for Cybersecurity Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.

The Minister of Interior praised the delegation’s visit to Bahrain to participate in the Manama Dialogue 2022, which is a prestigious international platform for reviewing visions on security issues and challenges to enhance joint action and strengthen regional security and international peace.

The Minister of Interior affirmed the continuation of Bahrain’s civilized approach based on coexistence, tolerance, religious freedom and mutual respect within the framework of a state of law and justice as part of the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The delegation was briefed on the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to protect security and public safety for all citizens and residents. He pointed to the continued development of the security performance and professionalism of the Bahrain Police through training and the use of modern technologies in providing services.

The Minister of Interior highlighted community partnership programs and their role in achieving community security, in addition to the achievements of the alternative punishment program, pointing to other initiatives in strengthening community partnership.

During the meeting, they reviewed the strong relations between the two friendly countries and ways of developing them to achieve common interests.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chief of Public Security and the Director General of Media and Security Culture.
