Interior Minister meets US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Political and Military Affairs

Washington, June 29 (BNA) Minister of Interior Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Political and Military Affairs, Acting Coordinator of the Counter-Terrorism Office, Timothy Bates.


The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States, Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, and the Deputy Chief of Public Security, Major General Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.


The US official highlighted the importance of developing the existing friendship between the two countries.


He pointed to the continued strengthening of security cooperation, coordination and exchange of experiences between the two countries, especially in training programs and the latest equipment and technologies.


Bates praised Bahrain’s efforts to combat terrorism and combat all forms of terrorist support and financing.


The minister stressed the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in protecting security and enhancing stability through the development and modernization of security work, fighting crimes, developing police operations, and achieving excellence in performance to provide strict security services.


Sheikh Rashid praised the security cooperation and the level of exchange of experiences between the Kingdom and the United States within the framework of the strategic partnership and the strong relations between the two friendly countries.


During the meeting, they reviewed the importance of joint work in various security fields, including cyber security, joint exercises and related memoranda of understanding. The two sides reviewed issues of developing joint cooperation.
