Manama, Jan. 31 (BNA): The Ministry of Industry and Trade destroyed expired foodstuffs.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Control and Resources, Abdulaziz Al-Ashraf, said that following a complaint about a company selling foodstuffs after adjusting their expiration dates.
After the investigation, 3,704 boxes of expired dates and date molasses were seized at five different locations.
The case was referred to the Public Prosecution, and court rulings were issued against the violator by confiscating and destroying the seized materials.
Al-Ashraf said the ministry has a zero-tolerance policy regarding commercial fraud that affects people’s well-being, safety and health.
