Since its establishment in 1997, the company owns and operates, through its subsidiaries, a number of well-known restaurants, cafes, salons and more establishments across the GCC.
They are currently looking for a Food Safety Manager to be based in Bahrain.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Overall responsible for quality assurance and food safety management system for bakery, catering and farm production.
• Design, develop and implement management policies and procedures related to quality assurance, food safety and critical control points.
• Developing a food safety management system and a unified food safety system in the field of catering and operating bakeries and farms.
• Development of bakery products such as bread, cake, etc..
• Improve the food products that are in operation by implementing quality assurance procedures throughout the process from receiving, storing, processing, packaging and dispatching.
• Implement food safety procedures throughout catering and bakery operations from purchasing, receiving, storing, processing/preparing and serving/dispatching.
• Organize scheduled management review meetings to assess and ensure system development and performance.
• Perform quality checks including metal detection, weight check, visual inspection and temperature checks.
• Supplier assessment and audit, and conduct inspections of raw materials.
• Conduct periodic internal food safety/quality assurance audits and inspections regarding hygiene, food safety and HACCP in all areas, where appropriate, such as restaurants/bakeries, and identify areas for improvements based on audit findings.
• Monitor policies relating to glass, fragile plastics, sharp objects, wood materials and allergens regardless of microbiological risks.
• Design, develop, document and implement GHPs (Good Hygiene Practices).
• Circulating all cases of non-conformance that were highlighted in the internal and external audits to all relevant relevant departments concerned and following up on all cases of non-conformity to ensure that corrective actions are taken.
• Analyze food safety hazards/hazards and non-conformities.
• Planning, preparing and evaluating various training programs, according to the principles of quality, food safety and internal reviews.
• Advise food handlers through formal and informal training on quality assurance and food safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct induction training for all employees to ensure that they are fully familiar with HACCP, food safety and hygiene rules and regulations before commencing work.
• Planning and preparing training needs analysis and scheduling training programs in proportion to work activities as required.
• Train and advise staff by providing constructive feedback to improve performance and taking disciplinary action if necessary in coordination with the unit manager(s).
• Planning and preparing a training implementation program.
• Ensure that employees’ health records are complete, accurate and up-to-date. HR should be given updated records as required.
• Ensure implementation of employee illness notification policy and maintain relevant records.
• Design, develop, document and implement cleaning schedules and monitoring program.
• Preparing and implementing a preventive maintenance program.
• Implementation and monitoring of an integrated pest management system.
• Ensure that all gauges are calibrated.
• Waste management and environmental control in relation to risks.
• Plan and implement the traceability system in line with company policies, procedures and systems.
• Develop and implement quality standards for food and packaging materials requirements.
• Packaging for sandwiches and other products in a bakery operation and advising on nutritional information on the packaging.
• Perform proper packaging testing of packaged items and verify nutritional, expiration and product information on the packaging.
• Assist in food facilities design, planning, installation, restructuring and re-engineering.
• Monitor personal hygiene site for all employees and regular inspections.
• Microbiological analysis of food and water samples and swabs throughout the collection in bakeries, restaurants and the farm.
• Coordinate laboratory analysis with contracted laboratory for food and water and interpretation of results to enable communication of required corrective actions if required.
• Handle regulatory inspections and ensure proficiency with local food regulations.
• Maintain and update food safety and quality assurance documents and monitor and verify records.

Qualifications and requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Food Technology/Food Microbiology or equivalent technical experience, or Quality Assurance and Food Safety qualifications from a recognized/accredited examination body.
• 8-10 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance processes and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to do so at all different levels.
• Ability to effectively plan, organize, direct, assign and review the activities and duties of the food safety team.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and ability.
