Infrastructure priorities to be included in future government policies, initiatives


Manama, June 23 (BNA) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa announced that the Kingdom of Bahrain is under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince. The Prime Minister is giving top priority to infrastructure projects in various sectors.

He said that the main objective is the ability to keep pace with the requirements of comprehensive and sustainable development.

“The government is keen to move forward with infrastructure projects at a faster pace, and to provide high-quality and efficient services to meet the aspirations of the people and enhance the Kingdom’s readiness for more investment projects with positive returns on the national economy.”

“This is of particular importance with the urban expansion in the Kingdom thanks to the new residential cities and the willingness of the private sector to invest in the real estate and industrial development sector,” Sheikh Khaled said during his reception of the ministers.

They are Minister of Municipality and Agriculture Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Transportation and Communications Muhammad bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Minister of Works Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Electricity and Water Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, and Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Amina bint Ahmed Al. Al Rumaihi.

Sheikh Khaled said that the next stage of government procedures requires intensifying coordination and integration between ministries and government service agencies, and working in a team spirit to implement the visions of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister to upgrade services to higher levels.

Sheikh Khaled directed the ministers to complete the government’s commitments in its 2019-2022 action plan.

He called for giving priority to infrastructure projects to integrate them into future policies and initiatives that shape the aspirations of the government’s action plan.

It will be reviewed in the workshops ordered by His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister and converted into a road map for the priorities of the Ministerial Committee for Development Projects and Infrastructure.
