Information Minister: Bahraini-Saudi relations model in historical fraternity

Manama, December 9 (BNA) Information Minister Ali bin Muhammad Al-Rumaihi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s welcome and appreciation for the kind visit of the Saudi Crown Prince and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In a statement to Okaz newspaper, Al-Rumaihi expressed the pride of the Bahraini people in the blessed fraternal visit of the Saudi Crown Prince and the accompanying delegation. He stressed the importance of this in further strengthening the historical relations between the two brotherly countries. He described the bilateral relations as a model for solidarity and strategic partnership led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He praised the positive results of the Bahrain-Saudi Coordination Council since its establishment headed by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He stressed the importance of the Council in promoting integration.

The Minister of Information affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s appreciation for solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He praised the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in protecting Gulf and Arab national security, promoting peace and prosperity, and serving Islamic causes. He referred to the support of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab and Islamic world for the measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect its security and stability and to deter terrorism and extremism. He praised the honorable sacrifices of Saudi Arabia in leading the Arab coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen and find a comprehensive solution to the crisis. He also praised the humanitarian assistance provided by the Kingdom to the Yemeni people through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, pointing to Saudi Arabia’s role in confronting the hostile operations of the terrorist Houthi militia.

The Minister of Information added that the world views with great appreciation and admiration the ambitious development and reform initiatives of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which have strengthened the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the world map. He stressed Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen its economic relations with Saudi Arabia, its largest economic and commercial partner. He referred to the increase in non-oil trade exchange between the two countries and the establishment of many joint investment, financial and commercial projects. He stressed that the construction of the King Hamad Causeway will enhance the economic partnership.

The Minister of Information indicated the two countries’ interest in enhancing media cooperation and enhancing the sector’s role in promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence, combating terrorism and extremism, promoting sustainable growth and supporting Arab and Islamic causes.
