Industry Minister receives UK Chief Negotiator for the UK-GCC (FTA)

Manama, April 4 (BNA): Minister of Industry and Trade, Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, received Tom Wintle, the chief British negotiator for the free trade agreement between the United Kingdom and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.


The meeting was attended by the Head of the International Engagement Department, UK-GCC Free Trade Agreement, Alistair Walker, and the UK Ambassador to Bahrain, Roderick Drummond.


The minister emphasized the role of the United Kingdom as a major global investment partner, noting the steady growth of economic relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, which reflects their distinguished historical relations.


The meeting discussed issues of common interest.


Minister Fakhro affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to enhance economic cooperation with the United Kingdom in all fields.


He pointed to the role that the private sector can play in both countries and benefit from the advantages of the free trade agreement that contribute to achieving common goals and raising the rates of trade and investment exchange.
