iGA reports a 75% boost in suggestion submissions Via Tawasul in 2021

Manama, February 5 (BNA): The Information and eGovernment Authority implemented more than 350 suggestions received through the National Complaints and Suggestions System (Tawasul) in 2021.

According to the Information and eGovernment Authority, public requests increased 75% in 2021 compared to the previous year, and the authority implemented an additional 137 proposals in 2021, after careful review.

Muhammad Ali Al-Qaed, the Information and eGovernment Authority, explained that the applications submitted through electronic channels were prioritized in accordance with the commitment to the authority’s digital strategy and were implemented with the availability of resources.

The commander confirmed that the implemented proposals included several proposals related to ID card services, electronic traffic application, and B-Air Bahrain application, which was launched by the Kingdom to combat the spread of the Corona virus. He stated that other requests were currently under review.

The Leader indicated that the Information and eGovernment Authority constantly seeks an open dialogue with the public, in line with the directives of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to adopt the open door policy.

The Leader also attributed the success of e-government services, especially during the pandemic, to the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Interior Staff Lt. Gen. Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to encourage communication with the public.

The Leader explained that more than 25,000 cases related to the services of the Information and eGovernment Authority were received during 2021, and stressed that the Information and eGovernment Authority maintained a 100% success rate in responding to each proposal within the time specified for it.

CE thanked the public for their trust in the Information and eGovernment Authority and its services, adding that Tawasul’s main contribution was to bring their ideas to fruition by transforming them into new digital systems, services and channels. He explained that these suggestions provide government agencies and officials with an effective way to identify and address issues faced by the public.

The CE from the Information and eGovernment Authority announced that the ID card suggestions that were implemented included a service that allows displaying on the screen, printing ID card data and updating residential addresses registered through the portal. He explained that more features have been added to allow modification of applications and uploading of documents.

Al Qaed explained that the Information and e-Government Authority has also worked with the General Traffic Department to digitize traffic services, including a service that displays electronic copies of driving licenses and vehicle ownership certificates through the electronic traffic application on a mobile phone.

He stated that another service has been added that allows issuing permits for vehicles destined for Saudi Arabia via the King Fahd Causeway, replacing the previous system that required physical documents.

CE stated that new services have also been added to the BeAware Bahrain app, including providing individuals with access to their medical records, particularly those related to the COVID-19 virus.

He stated that other services have also been added, including the ability to report issues with medical records and COVID-19 vaccine status, the ability to update registered phone numbers, and an updated list of common COVID-19 questions and instructions, among others.
