iGA announces results of Business Confidence Environment Survey


Manama, August 16 (BNA) The Business Confidence Index in the Kingdom of Bahrain showed that 91.1% of investors expect a stable investment climate for the third quarter (third quarter) of this year.

The business performance index stabilized at 99.25 points in the third quarter of 2022 compared to 98.13 points recorded in the second quarter of 2022, an increase of 1.12 points or 1.14% over the previous quarter. The current index showed a rise of 14.16 points compared to the same period in 2021.

The quarterly survey measures business confidence by company size, industry and investment type. An overall positive outlook was recorded in BCI’s business performance, earnings and competition sub-indices in the third quarter of 2022.

The results showed that 91.1% of companies have a stable to optimistic outlook, an increase of 2.4% compared to the previous quarter. 41.5% of companies expect stable business performance, while 49.6% expect improvement.

The survey revealed that a total of 82.9% of companies witnessed stable and appropriate business performance during the second quarter of 2022, as 61.0% of companies revealed stability in their performance, while 21.9% expressed satisfaction. In contrast, 17.1% of companies showed dissatisfaction with their business performance.

Availability of this information helps promote a competitive investor-friendly business environment, allowing decision makers to take appropriate actions based on levels of confidence related to company size, industry and type of investment.

Business confidence indicators are calculated using the results of quarterly surveys conducted by the Information and eGovernment Authority on a sample of the business community. These projects range from small to large companies, including those classified as foreign and domestic investments (based on commercial records (records). The survey aims to provide an indication of confidence levels for active enterprises registered with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, such as those licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain.
