Hungarian President visits site of first oil well in Bahrain, Oil Museum

Manama, Feb. 17 (BNA): The President of Hungary, Catalin Novak, today visited the site of the first oil well that was discovered in the Kingdom of Bahrain, dating back to 1932. Upon her arrival, she was received by the Minister of Oil and Environment and the Special Envoy. For Climate Affairs, Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak bin Dinah and senior officials of the Noga Holding Company.


The Hungarian President listened to a briefing on the site and how it led to the discovery of oil in the region. She met a number of young Bahrainis working in the oil sector. She also visited the Oil Museum and viewed its historical holdings, which shed light on many oil discovery stations and related industries.


The Hungarian President expressed his pleasure at visiting the site of the first oil well in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She also praised the holdings in the Oil Museum, which confirm Bahrain’s interest in documenting the important period related to the discovery of oil in the Kingdom.
