HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs the weekly cabinet meeting

Manama, April 4 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister chaired today the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.


The Cabinet highlighted the developments in the combat readiness and defense capabilities of the Bahrain Defense Force, noting the visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Forces, to inaugurate a number of warships.


The Council of Ministers called for continuous monitoring of commodity prices, and directed the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism to ensure the abundance of goods for the Kingdom’s citizens and residents in proportion to market needs.


On the occasion of the International Day of Conscience adopted by the United Nations in response to the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, which falls on April 5 of each year, the Council of Ministers confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to adopt initiatives. that promote compassion and world peace.


In celebration of the World Health Day, the Council of Ministers thanked the medical and health workers in the Kingdom for their honorable efforts and sacrifices in serving the country. The Cabinet indicated the appreciation of the medical workforce for its continuous efforts and sacrifices to provide the best health care despite the various circumstances and challenges.


The Council of Ministers welcomed the decision of the Council of Ministers in its last session chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to authorize the Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, or his representative, to discuss with their Bahraini counterpart a draft cooperation agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain in energy field.

The Cabinet welcomed the announcement by the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, that a two-month armistice had been reached. The Cabinet expressed its appreciation for the response of the leadership of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen and the Yemeni parties to the efforts of the UN envoy. The armistice came within the framework of the initiative announced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in March 2021, to end the Yemeni crisis in order to reach a comprehensive political solution that guarantees the return of security and stability to Yemen.


During the meeting, the Council of Ministers discussed several memoranda with the following results:



Agree to the following notes:


1. The memorandum of the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the National Human Rights Plan (2022-2026), which includes 4 main axes related to civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, as well as those who need priority assistance.


2. A memorandum by the Minister of Defense regarding a draft law amending the provisions of the decree-law to issue a law regulating pensions and retirement benefits for officers and members of the Bahrain Defense Force and Public Security.


3. A memorandum regarding the assignment of the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain at the International Renewable Energy Agency.


Then the Council of Ministers took note of several ministerial reports, including the following:

• Foreign participations of ministers and visits of foreign delegations to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the month of April 2022.
