HRH Princess Sabeeka’s support for productive families highlighted

Manama, Mar. 14 (BNA): Minister of Social Development, Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, affirmed that Bahrain’s experience in the areas of productive families and entrepreneurs constitutes a model for sustainable development and an example of integration in the sustainable development process. He pointed out that the Kingdom encourages low-income families to become productive, which contributes to revitalizing the local economy and motivating Bahrainis to be creative and innovative, in light of an attractive investment climate and an atmosphere conducive to competitiveness.

The minister’s remarks came on the eve of the Kingdom’s celebration of the Arab Productive Family Day, which falls on March 15 of each year, and which was approved by the Arab ministers of social affairs in response to a proposal submitted by Bahrain to encourage productive families.

He also highlighted the importance of the “Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Productive Families” in providing productive families with the opportunity to display and market their products in innovative ways.

In this regard, Al-Asfoor praised the unlimited support provided by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, to productive families, noting her Highness’s keenness to sponsor national projects. And initiatives aimed at empowering citizens to play an active role in the development of society.

He emphasized the Ministry of Social Development’s constant keenness to support productive families and launch programs that ensure their development and sustainability.
