Manama, October 8 (BNA) The Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Lieutenant-General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, affirmed the government’s keenness to provide the best health services and achieve comprehensive health coverage, within the framework of the continuous directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the diligent follow-up of His Royal Highness. The Chairman of the Council explained that the government’s efforts aim to develop health services in the Kingdom and meet the health needs of citizens in all governorates of the Kingdom, as part of initiatives to strengthen the health sector in the Kingdom. The Chairman of the Council expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for providing a revolutionary drug treatment for sickle cell patients, Crizanlizumab, which is life-changing for patients with sickle cell disease after completing clinical trials.
Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah stressed that the provision of medicine within the treatment protocol in the Kingdom, which is the first medicine available for the disease in 20 years, reflects Bahrain’s keenness to provide integrated health care for all segments of society.
