Housing and Urban Planning Minister visits East Hidd Town

Manama, July 13 (BNA) Work on infrastructure projects in East Hidd is nearing completion, as 95% of the housing scheme has already been completed.

“It is expected that the huge development project will be completed during the last quarter of this year,” Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi said while inspecting the housing plan.

And she announced that work on the construction of residential buildings will start during this quarter, noting that the project will include residential buildings with all facilities and services, including car parks, areas designated for gardens and children’s games.

“The construction of 1,873 housing units has been completed and delivered to citizens out of the total planned units,” she said.

She indicated that the ministry has handed over 529 residential plots of land in the project, adding that 60% of the beneficiaries have started construction work.

She stressed the government’s keenness to promote social housing projects and programs and to adopt innovative initiatives and solutions that ensure the speedy access of citizens to adequate housing.
