HM King’s support to medical frontliners hailed

Manama, January 19 (BNA) The Supreme Council of Health today held its periodic meeting, which was held remotely via video conferencing.

The session was chaired by the Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Covid-19, Lieutenant-General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

On behalf of the work team and health professionals, the Chairman of the Council expressed his deepest thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for honoring them for awarding them the Medals of Medical Merit to Prince Salman bin Hamad.

He praised the royal support for the national efforts led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He also expressed his sincere thanks to His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, praising his support for health development projects, and his keenness to strengthen medical services.

The Council continued to follow up on the decision to dispense narcotics and psychotropic substances for a period of one month, according to an approved prescription, in implementation of the decision of the Minister of Health.

It discussed the approval of the supervisory controls for the practice of private medicine within government hospitals, and directed the Board of Trustees of government hospitals to submit a proposal to the next meeting. Other topics on the meeting’s agenda were also discussed.
