HM King receives UNGA Presidents

Manama, Mar. 6 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Al-Safariyya Palace today the former presidents of the United Nations General Assembly on the occasion of their visit to the Kingdom, with a royal invitation to participate in the activities of the conference. The meeting of the Council of Presidents of the United Nations General Assembly, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The delegation of the former presidents of the UN General Assembly included the Chairman of the UN General Management Council and the President of the 56th session Dr. Han Seung-soo, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of the 57th session Jan Kavan, President of the 61st session Sheikha Haya bint Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the 62nd session. Session Srjan Karim, Chair of the 65th Session Josef Deiss, Chair of the 67th Session Vuk Jeremić, Chair of the 70th Session Mogens Leketovt, Chair of the 72nd Session Miroslav Lajác, and Director of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism Dr. Jahangir Khan.

His Majesty the King welcomed the delegation, thanking him for accepting the invitation to visit Bahrain. He praised the important meeting hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the participation of a group of prominent international personalities. He praised their tireless efforts to enhance the role of the United Nations in the international arena, praising the strong friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and their countries. He wished CPUNGA every success in serving the goals of the international organization to promote world peace and security and to achieve growth and prosperity for all mankind.
