Students’ outstanding skills earn them CyberPatriot XV second place

Manama, Mar. 6 (BNA): The Bahrain School team members won the second place award in the Gold Category, At-Large – Open Section of the CyberPatriot Competition.

CyberPatriot is the largest youth e-learning program in the United States dedicated to promoting cyber skills among youth.

The Bahrain School team – Daniel Sobieralski, Dimitri Mohamed and Faris Radwan – did well in hardening simulated computer systems and solving real-world cybersecurity situations faced by professionals in the field.

Led by Joshua Crist, a cybersecurity instructor at the Department of Defense and the Middle East, Bahrain School was one of 5,266 high school and middle school teams from around the world that participated in the 15th season of CyberPatriot XV that launched in October 2022.

“Based on its type of organization, Bahrain School competed against other public and private schools in the open section,” said Joshua Crist.

“The competition provides students with hands-on experience securing computer networks while exciting, educating, and motivating them toward careers in cybersecurity and other STEM fields.”
