Manama, February 6 (BNA) His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, today sponsored the inauguration of the Royal Guard Command Building on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the establishment of the Bahrain Defense Force.
The opening ceremony was held in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force, Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
Upon his arrival, His Majesty the King was received by the National Security Adviser, Commander of the Royal Guard, His Highness Major General Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Commander of the Royal Guard Special Force, Lt. Col. Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The ceremony was also attended by a number of senior officials and a number of senior officers.
After the national anthem, His Majesty the King, the Supreme Commander, handed the banner of the 14th Royal Guard Brigade and the 17th Royal Security and Protection Brigade. Then His Majesty the King, the Supreme Commander, raised the commemorative plaque announcing the opening of the building.
The King congratulated the Supreme Commander, the members of the Bahrain Defense Force and the Bahraini people, and thanked the members of the Bahrain Defense Force for assuming their sacred duty to defend the homeland.
His Majesty the King praised the role of the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force and his dedicated efforts in developing the Bahrain Defense Force to become a deterrent and peace-keeping force in the region and a force for national prosperity and growth. He also praised the new building of the Royal Guard Command, expressing his determination to continue the development process. And His Majesty the King wrote in the visitors’ book, expressing his appreciation for the inauguration of the Royal Guard Command Building.
In his welcoming speech, the National Security Adviser, Commander of the Royal Guard, Major General Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, extended his sincere congratulations on the 54th anniversary of the establishment of the Bahrain Defense Force, praising it as a fortress of the nation, its achievements and unity. . He praised the Kingdom’s development process under the inspiring leadership of His Majesty the King.
His Highness Major General Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised His Majesty the King, the Supreme Commander, for sponsoring the opening of the Royal Guard Command Building, stressing the role of the Bahrain Defense Force in achieving security and stability at the national and regional levels. He praised the royal achievements and the outstanding care and support of the Bahrain Defense Force in armament and training. He also praised the support of His Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister, and the tireless efforts made by the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force to develop the Bahraini army.
After that, the Director of Military Works in the Bahrain Defense Force gave a brief explanation of the construction and management works of the building.
His Highness Major General Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented a souvenir to His Majesty the King, a model of the historic “Sabha” fortress built by the late Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa in the city of Al Zubarah in 1762 AD.
His Majesty the King toured the Royal Guard Command Building, and listened to a briefing from His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa about its departments.
His Majesty the King issued an order to promote and award honorary medals to a number of members of the Bahrain Defense Force.
Members of the Royal Guard extended to His Majesty the King their sincere congratulations on the occasion of the fifty-fourth anniversary of the Bahrain Defense Force, wishing him good health, growth and prosperity for the Kingdom of Bahrain.
