HM King issues Decree 3/2022 transferring SEA tasks and powers to the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs

Manama, Jan. 18 (BNA) His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today issued Decree No. 3 of 2022 transferring the functions and powers of the Sustainable Energy Authority to the Ministry of Electricity and Water.

The decree stipulated the following:

Article 1

The Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs undertakes all the competencies, tasks and powers entrusted to the Sustainable Energy Authority and stipulated in the laws, regulations, decrees and regulations in force in the Kingdom.

Article 2

All electricity and water credits included in the state’s general budget and all its rights and obligations will be transferred to the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs, and SEA employees will be transferred to the Ministry, with the same rights and job benefits as per the organization of the Ministry.

Article 3

Any text that contradicts the provisions of this decree shall be repealed.

Article 4

The Prime Minister and the ministers – each within his jurisdiction – shall implement the provisions of this decree, which shall come into force on the first of February 2022, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
