HM King holds talks with Hungarian President; praises solid bilateral relations

Manama, Feb. 16 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received the President of Hungary, Katalin Novak, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Gudaibiya Palace today.

His Majesty King Hamad and President Katalin Novak held a joint meeting during which they reviewed the close cooperation and friendship relations between the two countries, as well as ways to expand bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the two peoples. The Hungarian president expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the King for the warm reception and hospitality she received.

Then, His Majesty the King and the Hungarian President held an expanded session of talks, which was attended by His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in addition to the delegations of the two countries.

His Majesty the King delivered a speech in which he expressed his deep pride in the strong and distinguished Bahraini-Hungarian relations, stressing the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen these relations in various fields to serve common interests.

His Majesty the King said: “On this occasion, we would like to refer to our official visit to your friendly country about three years ago. We had the opportunity to learn about Hungary’s heritage and the civilizational achievements of its people throughout its ancient history, which we admired greatly, and we were also briefed on the renaissance that your country is witnessing, coupled with With scientific modernization and knowledge primacy, and fortifying it with the values ​​of peaceful and civilized coexistence, all of which are areas we care about and are keen on in order to be reflected in the paths of our joint cooperation.

His Majesty King Hamad also expressed his satisfaction with the positive results of the joint economic committee meeting, indicating that the results will benefit the two friendly countries.

His Majesty the King affirmed that the continuous efforts made by the joint committee to enhance political cooperation and coordinate stances towards various regional and international challenges will enrich joint work between the two countries, expressing the two countries’ joint keenness to strengthen them. “Brotherhood and friendship” relations.

His Majesty the King added, “Out of our pride in the hopes and aspirations of our friendly countries that promote human rapprochement, we are pleased to award you the Order of Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa of the first degree, to express our country’s great appreciation, respect and love for friendly Hungary.”

Then, His Majesty the King granted the Order of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa of the first degree to His Excellency Hungary, in appreciation of its efforts in supporting areas of joint cooperation between the two countries.

Her Excellency President Katalin Novak also awarded His Majesty King Hamad the Hungarian Order of Merit, the Order of the Grand Cross with a Chain, which is the highest award that can be bestowed on foreign heads of state.

After that, the Hungarian President delivered a speech in which she expressed her thanks to His Majesty the King for the kind invitation extended by His Majesty the King to her to visit the Kingdom, as well as for the warm welcome extended to her.
