High Committee for Health Cities holds meeting

Manama, July 23 (BNA) An expert from the World Health Organization is scheduled to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain in September to adopt the city of A’ali as a healthy city.

The Higher Committee of Healthy Cities held a periodic meeting to review the preparations for the upcoming visit.

The session was chaired by the Governor of the North, Ali Abdul-Hussein Al-Asfoor, and was attended by the Head of the Follow-up Office, Jaafar Al-Halawi, the Coordinator of the Healthy Cities Program at the Ministry of Health, Bushra Al-Hindi, and members of the committee.

The governor stressed the importance of developing a plan of action in line with the theoretical report and the expert’s field visit.

He praised the report issued by the Coordinator of the Healthy Cities Program, which indicated the implementation of more than 90% of the accreditation standards and requirements.

The report also highlighted the level of cooperation of civil society and various government sectors in consolidating the comprehensive system of high accreditation for a healthy city, in addition to creating community awareness to strengthen the primary health care system in combating the Covid-19 pandemic and other infectious diseases. .
