Manama, Apr. 7 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, affirmed that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s firm interest has contributed to the development of youth and sports. In the Kingdom, appreciating the constant interest and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in this regard.
His Highness Sheikh Nasser also praised the First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Authority for Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for his continuous contributions to the development of sports in Bahrain, especially football, citing the directives of His Highness the Sheikh to allocate 100 thousand Bahraini dinars for the King’s Cup champions.
His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman and members of the Board of Directors and associates, congratulated Al Hala for winning the 2023 King’s Cup, indicating that the victory was a fruitful outcome of the team’s outstanding performance.
His Highness also praised the outstanding performance of the runner-up Al-Ahly Club, wishing them success in the upcoming tournaments.
His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa also congratulated the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Football Association, led by Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, for their outstanding organization of the final match of the prestigious cup.
It is noteworthy that Al-Hala Club won a penalty shootout over Al-Ahly Club 6-5 after the score remained tied 0-0 after 90 minutes of play and two extra periods.
