Manama, Jan. 8 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Authority for Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, issued Resolution No. 1/2023 regarding the registration of the Bahrain Chess Federation in the registry of the Public Authority for Sports.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled issued the decision after reviewing Decree No. 21 of 1989 and its amendments, Decree No. 61/2021, Decree No. 15/2014 and 32/2020.
The decree supports mental sports and their practitioners and confirms their local and international status, as many regional and international tournaments are held, including the Chess Olympiad, which is held every two years.
