Madrid, May 14 (BNA): The Royal Endurance Team won today the 120 km race (general category and junior category) within the Spanish International Championship.


First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Authority for Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, congratulated the team on their performance.

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad congratulated the riders of the royal team, Salman Issa, Manal Fakhrawi and Ahmed Al-Thawadi, for obtaining the first three places, in addition to Abdullah Al-Ruwaie, the champion of the junior category.


His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad participated in the 160 km race, but his horse failed to pass the veterinary exam after the first stage of the race. He followed the team’s other riders, whom he pushed to achieve positive results in both races.

Salman Issa took the first place, recording 6 hours, 7 minutes and 41 seconds, followed by Manal Fakhrawi (6 hours, 7 minutes and 42 seconds) and Ahmed Al Thawadi (6 hours, 7 minutes and 46 seconds).

Abdullah Al-Ruwaie outperformed the other riders to rank first in the junior category, recording (6 hours, 59 minutes and 14 seconds). The royal team champions were honored at the end of the tournament.
