HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa inaugurates the 2023 Bahrain International Garden Show

Manama, March 9 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, inaugurated the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Fund today. Bahrain International Garden Show 2023 under the title “Water: Renewing Life” at the Bahrain International Fair.

His Highness highlighted the importance of BIGS as a leading platform in the field of horticulture and agriculture in the region and referred to the support the exhibition enjoys from both His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince. prime minister.

His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman noted the commitment of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and Chair of the Advisory Board of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), to support the “BIGS” initiative, which continues to advance and develop the agricultural sector in the Kingdom.

His Highness toured the exhibition and emphasized the importance of the BIGS project in promoting investment opportunities in the agricultural sector. In this regard, His Highness praised the role played by the institutions in developing the exhibition, and highlighted the Kingdom’s extensive efforts in economic diversification and environmental preservation.

His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman awarded the winners of the Bahrain Garden Club competition, where Jalila Syed Mahdi won the Cup of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for obtaining the largest number of points in the residence gardens, and Dalal Sami Radhi won the Cup of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa for receiving it . Most points within the category of flowers and vegetables.

Fawaz Hamdan also won the Cup of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa for the best exhibition in professional photography, while Esmat Ahmed Abdullah won the Cup of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa for the best exhibition in amateur photography. Ericsson won the Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Trophy for Best Exhibition in Student Photography, and Bethan Robinson received the Her Royal Highness Sheikha Haya bint Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa Trophy for Best Exotic Plant Show.

2023 BIGS is showcasing over 176 exhibitors, including a pavilion for the Bahrain Farmers Market.

Two halls have been allocated to display the winners of the award for the best Bahraini farmer in the King Hamad Award for Agricultural Development, in addition to other spaces allocated to twelve Bahraini farmers to display local products.

The Khallasi Garden pavilion will also return this year. The activities will include fun games and educational and awareness workshops on water sustainability.

The exhibition, which will be open to the public from March 9 to 12, will highlight agricultural technologies that contribute to the development and sustainability of the agricultural sector in the Kingdom, in addition to presenting a range of agricultural products, solutions and innovations presented by local and foreign companies.
