HH Deputy Prime Minister chairs 20th meeting of Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology

Manama, January 25 (BNA) His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology, chaired the twentieth meeting of the Committee.

The virtual meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and the members.

The meeting reviewed the achievements made in the field of digital transformation during 2021 to achieve the goals of the government’s work program in raising government efficiency by adopting modern technologies.

The meeting dealt with the completion of the development of the national portal and the development of self-service.

The self-service platform aims to facilitate access to government services in an easy and secure manner. Moreover, the creation of an integrated digital government system to deal with the epidemic through the BeAware application.

His Highness the Deputy Prime Minister thanked the committee and its members for the efforts and achievements of the Information and eGovernment Authority.

The committee reviewed the outcomes of the Microsoft agreement to provide software, cloud computing systems, and technical support to all government agencies.

The meeting approved the Digital Government Documents and Certificates Initiative, which aims to develop a central information system to secure and manage government documents electronically.
