HEC Secretary-General inaugurates AUBH 3D laboratory

Manama, Jan. 19 (BNA): The Secretary General of the Higher Education Council and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, inaugurated the first doctoral laboratory of its kind at the American University (AUBH), accompanied by the university president, Dr. Bradley J. Cook.

D-Lab is a professional laboratory that contains machines and devices with modern technologies that print and manufacture 3D products.

The lab was launched in partnership with Go Fab 3D, a subsidiary of Fab Lab Bahrain.

The Secretary-General was briefed on the laboratory’s smart and modern technology used in printing and manufacturing products using 3D technology using artificial intelligence.

She praised the cooperation between the university and the institution, stressing FabLab Bahrain’s efforts to develop students’ skills in the field of modern technology.

Dr. Sheikha Rana stressed the efforts of the Supreme Elections Committee to integrate modern technology into the higher education sector.

The President of the American University in Abu Dhabi confirmed that D-Lab is equipped with the largest number of 3D manufacturing machines in Bahrain, which will encourage students and faculty members to explore the field of design and serve the market in the Kingdom.
