Health Minister receives Resident Coordinator of United Nations Activities in Bahrain

Manama, August 14 (BNA) Health Minister Dr. Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan received the Resident Coordinator of United Nations Activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain Khaled Al-Maqwad. She welcomed him, stressing the ministry’s keenness to strengthen partnership with the United Nations and its agencies to achieve common goals. It also reviewed Bahrain’s efforts to develop the health sector through a comprehensive health system, within the framework of the health insurance project and the self-management project for primary health care centers and public hospitals.

For his part, the Resident Coordinator of United Nations Activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Health for her welcome and interest in strengthening cooperation with the United Nations in the health field. He wished the Kingdom of Bahrain continued growth and prosperity.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Secretary-General for Public Health, Dr. Maryam Al-Hajri, and the representative of the World Health Organization in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Tasneem Atatreh.
