Manama, October 6 (BNA) Health Minister Faeq bint Saeed Al-Saleh referred to the importance of breast cancer awareness in October as the month to raise awareness of the disease and raise funds to research its causes.
The minister said that the ministry’s programs, under the guidance and support of the government, have always worked to spread awareness of the disease and possible prevention methods.
She explained that a healthy lifestyle such as diet and physical activity can reduce risks, taking into account the genetic factor, stressing the importance of early detection tests or self-examination for the target age group to reduce risks and facilitate the recovery process.
She indicated the ministry’s keenness to work on organizing many events, activities and awareness campaigns in cooperation with various government and private agencies to raise awareness of breast cancer, which will be held in coordination with the Public Health Directorate.
