Gulf Air to restore over 90% of India schedule this summer



Manama, April 14 (BNA) Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, has started increasing its operations to India, starting with 49 flights a week this month.

By mid-May, Gulf Air will increase its weekly flights to 75, which represented more than 90% of its flight schedule to India before the pandemic, the company said.

“We are very excited to restore this integrated part of our aviation operations,” said Acting Chief Executive Officer, Captain Walid Al Alawi.

“The national airline of the Kingdom of Bahrain has never stopped flying during the height of the pandemic making it one of the most experienced and safest airlines to fly during these times, and today we are approaching our full network with some new additions coming online this summer such as Milan, Manchester and Rome.”

He added that Gulf Air is working on frequencies and connectivity to provide more options and comfort to its passengers, and we are confident that the coming months will witness more achievements and success stories to tell.

Gulf Air has been operating direct flights between Bahrain and India since 1960 and its Indian city network has always been central to Gulf Air’s global network.

Being one of the few airlines that continued its scheduled commercial operations, Gulf Air is constantly working closely with government authorities in all destinations on its network to resume operations as the pandemic restrictions ease and the airline industry recovers.

Being one of the few airlines that has never stopped flying during the pandemic, Gulf Air was recently awarded the Skytrax Five Star COVID-19 rating for aviation safety after a robust audit by Skytrax Research conducted in November and December 2021, to fly safely in All over the United States. pandemic and strengthening its airport and in-flight protocols to combat the spread of COVID-19.
