Manama, April 4 (BNA) Gulf Air, the Bahraini national carrier, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Texel Air to explore various cooperation opportunities including leasing agreements, engineering and maintenance activities.
The MoU was signed by Captain Walid Al Alawi, Acting CEO of Gulf Air, and John Chisholm, Chairman of Chisholm Enterprises, the parent company of Texel Air.
“We are always looking forward to discovering ways to enhance our commercial partnerships, and to engage in every sector relevant to the aviation industry, we are very impressed with this collaboration with Texel Air and look forward to embarking on a mutually fruitful relationship,” Al Alawi said.
“Gulf Air currently serves its network with a combined fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft. The national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, renowned for our traditional Arabian hospitality, is committed to being an industry leader and developing products and services that reflect the evolving needs and aspirations of its passengers.”
Chisholm welcomed the MoU to enter into a partnership with Gulf Air, saying that it comes at a time of remarkable developments in the aviation industry.
“This results in partners in the region joining together to strengthen business relationships and provide better services and offers of real benefit to our customers,” he said.
In a statement, Gulf Air said it is pleased to partner with Texel Air, a registered Bahraini airline and Maintenance Repair Organization (MRO) established in 2013, dedicated to providing third party freight forwarding operations to a wide range of customers with diverse requirements.
Texel Air fills a niche market for customized freight requirements, providing beneficial solutions while meeting tight deadlines with uncompromising levels of customer service, the statement said.
