The main areas of responsibilities are the procurement of food, beverages, guest supplies, repairs and maintenance items at the right price and in a timely manner while performing duties within the parameters associated with the product and the directive and regulations set forth by the hotel management. Another major responsibility is to work in close liaison with the Purchasing Manager, Assistant Purchasing Manager, Receiving Clerk, Store Keeper and Cost Controller.

Hotel Overview: The Makkah Clock Royal Tower, a Fairmont hotel, is located a few steps from the Holy Mosque and the Kaaba. One of the tallest buildings in the world, this 76-storey hotel is the focal point of the Abraj Al Bait complex, part of the King Abdulaziz Endowment Project, the iconic symbol of hospitality in the Holy City. The hotel’s genuine hospitality can be seen throughout the 1,618 carefully appointed and elegantly appointed rooms and suites with luxurious amenities and five-star services that allow for quiet contemplation and comfort.

Summary of responsibilities:

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, core responsibilities and functions include but are not limited to the following:

Checks for new daily purchase requisitions received in the system, and checks the departmental specification data entered correctly.
Ensures that full detailed reasons/explanations are entered through data related to the item(s) to be purchased.
Responsible for obtaining quotations for all assigned purchase orders.
– Ensures the best quality and competitive quotations for all items purchased.
Ensures that all public relations are properly completed with all necessary specifications, prior to assignment and forwarding for management approval.
Ensures that all approved purchase orders are purchased and delivered on time to the receiving agent.
Ensures timely delivery of all items ordered in Market List (F&B) daily before 11:00 AM.
Print the necessary systems reports for updating and following up on approved, unallocated and unauthorized purchase requests.
Follow up with suppliers regarding items that were not delivered on time. Checks for any discrepancies in price and/or quality offered by suppliers.
Monitors vendor reliability and reliability and establishes contact with potential suppliers.

qualifications:

At least 2 years experience in stores, purchasing and receiving, preferably within a hotel environment.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and follow-up skills.
Ability to develop and build relationships and utilize skills appropriately.
Ability to process information and merchandise through a computer system.
Ability to maintain a fair and consistent set of standards as they apply to the workforce.
Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and understandable manner, and listen attentively to other colleagues.
