Government Relations Officer

We are looking for a Government Relations Officer responsible for providing administrative support for the purchase of visas, renewals, medication and other government permits and licenses.

What will you do:

Keep senior management informed of any legal changes or processing
Ensure that policies and procedures follow and comply with local law.
Responsible for all visa applications and cancellations and deals directly with the Immigration Department regarding visa issues for team members, management and their families
Establish and maintain fruitful working relationships with key and operational government offices including: Ministry of Interior and Municipality, Ministry of Economy and Trade, Ministry of Business and Trade, Ministry of Public Health, Consumer Protection Department, Traffic Police, Customs, Airport Authorities and other ministries and agencies, in order to assist in the effective processing and approval of applications and formalities
Provides assistance with police and court cases, immigration and labor issues and other related matters
Maintain records of passports and visa expiry dates, inform team members in advance of passport expiry dates and visa extensions/renewals prior to expiration dates
Keep records of contact numbers for the employee’s family or relatives in case of emergency
Provides assistance in obtaining travel visas for key employees
Manages allotted petty cash by maintaining original receipts and by preparing expense reports in a timely manner
Work closely with HR and management teams to ensure timely completion and implementation of relevant governmental and administrative actions
Address immigration requirements in the most effective and efficient manner to expedite the rise of new employees
Ensure that all contracts related to human resources such as staff accommodation and transportation are up to date
Update work areas related to problems, risks and cases of immigration/government operations and provide relevant solutions
Maintain immigration-related personnel files and documents
Maintain suitable forms for all types of immigration and labor offices.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the T&C Director

Your experience and skills include:

Experience in Qatar is a must and experience in hospitality is an added advantage
– Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written) is a must.
Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar position
– Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving abilities
– Responsible and very reliable
– Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
– Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders

Required qualifications:

– Qatari labor laws and immigration rules and regulations
HR and administration policies and procedures
Previous experience in the hotel or leisure sector
Computer literacy
– Multitasking skills
– Pay attention to the details
