Government procurement requests worth BD3 million discussed at 48th ICT Governance Committee meeting

Manama, September 15 (BNA) The strategic procurement requests valued at about 3 million Bahraini dinars were discussed in the 48th virtual meeting of the Information and Communication Technology Governance Committee (ICTGC), chaired by the CEO of the Information and e-Government Authority (iGA), Muhammad Ali Al-Qaed. .

The meeting discussed a number of strategic projects, most notably the requests related to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs “Al-Madar” project, which aims to establish a round-the-clock operations center to monitor external events and developments that can help strengthen coordination and partnership. Exchange of information between the directorates of the Ministry and the relevant authorities.

The committee also reviewed the road data modeling project for the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, which will establish a mechanism for planning, designing, building and maintaining roads. Advanced methodologies, such as 3D design, sewage modeling, traffic simulation, etc., will be used in road modeling.

The members discussed updating the telephone system in the Ministry of Education, which will help it meet its requirements after redistributing the sector to its directorates. In addition, the committee covered several purchase requests related to upgrading information technology services in other government agencies, and reviewed the implemented decisions from previous meetings.

The Leader thanked the members for their continued support, and congratulated Dr. Khaled Al-Mutawa on his appointment by royal decree in the Information and eGovernment Authority as Executive Vice President for Operations and Governance at the Information and eGovernment Authority, wishing him success in his endeavors.
