Google: Happy National Day, Bahrain!

Manama, Dec. 16 (BNA): The technology giant Google joined the Bahrainis and the international community in celebrating the Kingdom’s national holidays, commemorating the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Islamic state, which was founded by Ahmed Al-Fateh in 1783 and the anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to the throne.

The search engine celebrated Bahrain’s national holidays by drawing a custom Google Doodle animated logo showing the kingdom’s red and white flag.

“Today Doodle celebrates Bahrain’s National Day,” Google said.

The National Day celebrations extend over two days, with the sound of the violin and rebab filling the air with traditional Gulf music. Majestic fireworks, cultural parties, acrobatic shows, magic and laser shows entertain people until sunset. In the evening, colorful lights illuminate up to half a mile of the city’s streets and lanes. Buildings across the country are decorated with national flags – like the ones in today’s doodles.

Happy National Day, Bahrain!
