Getafe president says Bale was offered to play for the club

Madrid, June 8 (BNA) Gareth Bale’s agent has offered the Wales national team striker to play for Getafe next season, the Spanish club’s president announced on Wednesday.

Angel Torres made the comments during the club’s launch of its new uniform. He did not go into details of the offer nor name Bell’s agent, according to the Associated Press.

When asked by a broadcaster about rumors that Bale might play for the club, Torres said: “People might think it’s a joke, but about 45, 50 minutes ago I spoke to his representative and they showed it to us.”

Bale is leaving Real Madrid after nine years as his contract expires at the end of the month. He will become a free agent and Spanish media have said the Wales player wants to keep moving in Madrid, where Getafe is based.

“This is not an invention,” Torres said. “I saw the news last night and looked at his reasons for wanting to stay and come to Getafe. We have to study the possibility and speak to our now-absent coach.
