He retweeted a video apparently posted by a Paris Saint-Germain player of the squad members on a flight to the Ligue 1 match on Saturday night. Paris beat Nantes 3-0.
Addressing Paris Saint-Germain, Krakovic wrote: “I have re-branded our TGV offer tailored to your specific needs.”
In response to questions from the Associated Press, PSG said there were no TGV trains late at night that would have taken them back to Paris after the match, which would have forced the team to spend the night in Nantes had they wanted to take the rails. A club spokesman said PSG was “not closed to the idea of taking the train if all conditions are met” and that it had held talks with French railway company SNCF. The spokesman said the team is increasingly using buses for short trips.
Krakovic’s tweet, which caught the attention of French media, comes as the French government urges companies, families and other consumers to save energy amid fears of shortages caused by tensions with Russia over the war in Ukraine.
