France reports highest number of new Covid cases

Paris, December 26 / BNA / Today, Saturday, France recorded the largest number of daily infections with the emerging coronavirus, as the authorities announced the registration of 104,611 new cases during the past 24 hours.

The nationwide seven-day infection rate last time was just under 647 new infections per 100,000 population.

In light of the significantly increasing numbers, the French government has indicated its intention to tighten the rules of access to certain places, including restaurants and cultural institutions, according to the German news agency (dpa).

Currently, you need to show that you have had the vaccination, you have recently recovered from the Coronavirus or show a negative test result to enter most places. Soon, a negative test alone will not be enough.

The government plans to present a law in a special session on Monday, which is due to be approved in mid-January.
