Four houses of worship opened

Manama, April 27 (BNA) The Great Prophet Mosque in Isa Town was inaugurated today after completing its comprehensive maintenance work.

This step comes in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to immediately launch a plan to develop mosques throughout the governorates of the Kingdom, and to open and restore 20 mosques belonging to the Sunnis and the Ja`faris. Endowments spread in the various governorates of the Kingdom, in addition to allocating sites and accelerating the design and construction of 12 mosques in the city of Salman.

The Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa inaugurated the mosque in the presence of a number of members of the Jafari Endowments Council and officials.

The Minister highlighted the increase in projects to construct houses of worship within the framework of the comprehensive development process of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and thanks to the follow-up of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister.

In a related context, the head of the Jaafari Endowment Council, Youssef bin Saleh Al-Saleh, inaugurated the “Al-Thamun” mosque in Jurdab after completing its maintenance work.

The Chairman and members of the Jaafari Endowments Council praised the great support enjoyed by the various places of worship in the Kingdom thanks to the leadership of His Majesty the King and the follow-up of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister to the efforts made to meet the needs of citizens with regard to religious services.

Al-Saleh praised the order of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister to launch a plan to develop mosques, noting that it reflects His Majesty’s constant keenness on places of worship.

On the other hand, the Jaafari Endowments Directorate announced the completion of maintenance work for the following places of worship, the Sayyida Khadija Mosque in Hamad Town, and the Great Mosque of Diraz in Diraz.

They all extended their deepest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, members of the royal family and citizens, as well as the Arab and Islamic nations on Eid Al Fitr, wishing them all the best.
