Foreign Ministry’s Chief of Afro-Asian Affairs meets African Union Commission delegation

Manama, November 2 (BNA) The Head of Afro-Asian Affairs, Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Al-Dhaen, met today with a delegation from the African Union Commission headed by the Acting Director of Partnerships and Resource Mobilization in the Council of Ministers. The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Jacques Mukwende, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a draft memorandum of understanding with the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen political, economic and trade relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the African Union Commission within the framework of cooperation with African countries.

It should be noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain was granted observer status to the African Union, due to the important role the Union plays on the international and African arenas.
