Manama, Jan. 31 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu held a press conference today during the Turkish Foreign Minister’s visit to Manama. Bahrain.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the visit of his Turkish counterpart, indicating the friendly relations between the two countries, and the mutual interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation, under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

He stressed that His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressing his appreciation for the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, stressing the importance of strengthening joint action and cooperation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that a fruitful session of official talks was held during which the friendly relations between the two countries were reviewed, in addition to discussing ways to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation in the economic, commercial, tourism and cultural fields. He also pointed out the importance of activating the existing memoranda between the two countries. He added that the two sides reviewed the political and security developments and challenges facing the Middle East region that threaten its security and stability. They also stressed the need to establish peace, enhance security and stability in the region and end all ongoing conflicts that harm the interests of the peoples of the region and affect their development and prosperity.

The Turkish Foreign Minister thanked his Bahraini counterpart for the hospitality, noting that the talks were positive.
