Foreign Minister receives US Congress delegation

Manama, October 14 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani received today a delegation of US congressional staff who is currently on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

He welcomed the delegation and pointed out the importance of these meetings to exchange views and viewpoints, develop historical relations between the two friendly countries, and enhance coordination and mutual cooperation in areas of common interest.

The Foreign Minister praised the vital role played by the United States in promoting security, peace and stability in the region and the world.

The two sides discussed the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to achieve sustainable development, protect human rights, support efforts to maintain security, stability and peace in the region, and promote the values ​​of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. A number of topics of common interest were also reviewed.

The meeting was attended by the President of American Affairs, His Excellency Ambassador Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the Head of Human Rights, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Arwa Hassan Al-Sayed.
