Foreign Minister receives European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman

Manama, January 5 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani received today the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament David McAllister.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed Mr. McAllister, praising the depth of cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union. He pointed out the importance of these visits in enhancing joint cooperation between the two sides and achieving common interests, stressing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening relations and cooperation between countries.

McAllister expressed his happiness to visit Bahrain and meet with senior officials, reviewing the distinguished friendship between the Kingdom and the European Union.

He stressed the European Union’s keenness to continue joint cooperation with Bahrain and to strengthen coordination frameworks towards various regional and international issues.

The two sides discussed ways to develop and enhance joint cooperation between Bahrain and the European Union to serve common interests. The two sides also exchanged views on the latest political and security situation in the region and its repercussions on security and stability.
