Manama, May 15 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, appreciating his wise career in promoting coexistence between religions and cultures, and calling for diplomatic and civilized dialogue to defuse regional and international tensions. conflicts.

“This path is the only alternative to building a world where security, peace, stability, progress and sustainable development prevail,” he said.

Dr. Al-Zayani’s remarks came as the Kingdom of Bahrain joins other countries in celebrating the “International Day of Living Together in Peace”, which is celebrated annually on May 16.

The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution proclaiming May 16 as the International Day of Living Together in Peace, recognizing the work of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) that celebrates diversity, understanding, solidarity, and living together in peace based on mutual respect – all humanitarian principles deeply rooted in the mission and vision of UNAOC .

The minister expressed his pride in the lofty royal initiatives and the approach of the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in spreading the culture of peace and consolidating the values ​​of love. Justice, tolerance, dialogue, and rejection of violence and incitement to religious hatred.

“These lofty values ​​are embodied in the ‘Declaration of the Kingdom of Bahrain’ and the efforts of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence and the King Hamad Chair for Dialogue, Peace and Interfaith Coexistence Studies at the Italian University of La Sapienza,” he said.

He praised the role of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation and the Kingdom’s hosting of international conferences and the presentation of international awards aimed at advocating peace and selfless service to humanity.

Al-Zayani renewed the commitment of the Ministry and the Bahraini diplomatic and consular missions to the royal vision, the government program and the national plan for human rights, stressing adherence to the national pillars in Bahrain, the land of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
