Foreign Minister meets with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Peninsula Affairs

Manama, October 6 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani met today with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Peninsula Affairs Daniel Benaim.

During the meeting, they discussed the friendly relations and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America and its permanent development in various fields. The efforts made by the two countries to maintain security and stability in the region and to promote peace, tolerance and peaceful coexistence for the benefit of their peoples were also reviewed.

The two sides also exchanged views on the democratic process in Bahrain and the efforts made by the Kingdom to protect human rights.

The meeting was attended by Chargé d’Affairs at the US Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain Margaret Nardi, Head of the American Affairs Sector in the Ministry, Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Head of the Human Rights Sector Dr. Arwa. Hassan Sayed.
