Foreign Minister holds press conference with Turkish counterpart

Ankara, November 17 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu held a press conference at the Turkish Foreign Ministry headquarters in Ankara today.

Dr. Al-Zayani praised the close friendship between the two countries in light of the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

He said that he conveyed to the Turkish Foreign Minister a written message from His Majesty the King to President Erdogan regarding the close cooperation relations between the two friendly countries.

He stated that he participated in the Asian Cooperation Dialogue meeting, during which Bahrain took over from the Republic of Turkey the presidency of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue for the 2021-2022 session.

He stressed the importance of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue in promoting joint cooperation in the economic, trade, investment and cultural fields among member states to achieve common interests.

He indicated that he held a bilateral meeting with his Turkish counterpart, during which they discussed the close friendly relations between the two countries, and stressed their keenness to further strengthen relations in various fields.

Cavusoglu expressed his congratulations to the Kingdom of Bahrain on assuming the presidency of the next session of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue.

He stressed that Dr. Al-Zayani’s visit to Turkey is an opportunity to develop inter-relations, continue consultation and communication, and activate the mechanisms concluded between the two countries to enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields.
